Cougars land first round of 2026 commits
"I couldn't be more excited about the 2026 recruiting class,” Athletic Director Nick Weinmeister said. “Our coaches have spent a lot of time securing commitments and continue to raise the competitiveness of our athletic programs."
The Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) Athletic Department welcomed more than 100 new student-athletes in August who made up the 2025 recruiting class. Several sports wasted no time in starting competitions, but the fall season ended as quickly as it arrived.
Coaching staffs across multiple other sports continued to hit the recruiting trail hard, and a few have received commitments for their 2026 classes. 17 student-athletes have committed to NICC representing the baseball, dance and softball teams.

The quality student-athletes that will be coming to NICC next fall will do great things in competition and in the classroom."
